SYNOPSIS
Riding on the success of the choir’s highly acclaimed first public concert, VoyAGe: A New Beginning at the Esplanade in 2007, the Anderson Junior College choir is back to share our love for music and our interpretation of classical, popular and contemporary choral works. Singing under the direction of esteemed local conductor Mr. Nelson Kwei, the choir will showcase her versatility through the music of revolutionary Italian composer Claudio Monteverdi of the Renaissance – Baroque period, prolific Romantic English composer Sir Edward William Elgar and contemporary composer Alberto Grau. The choir will also perform a selection of music by the famed partnership of great musical theater composer Richard Rodgers and writer Oscar Hammerstein II, creators of hits such as the musical Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I and The Sound of Music. Inspired and fresh from our recent Grand Prize Winner finish in the "Concorso Corale Internazionale" 10th International Choir Competition 2008 held in Riva del Garda, Italy, the AJChoir welcomes you to join us in an enchanting evening of music making.
